Operation Pollinator Workshop with
Bob Taylor, STRI Head of Ecology
and Dr Simon Watson, Syngenta
Technical Manager
BTME, Harrogate - The
Queen's Suite
Wednesday, 25th January at 3.30pm
- Learn new techniques - Share experiences - Get practical tips and
advice - See what it could do for you?
Improving the ecological value of your golf course for pollinating
insects creates an incredible opportunity to enhance the overall
playing experience. Combining an attractive environment with
exceptional playing surfaces can entice more players to your course
- and the all-important income they bring.
All greenkeepers, course managers and golf club
secretaries who are passionate about the ecology on their course,
and want to take positive action to create an attractive and
valuable environment in which to play, are welcome to attend the
free Operation Pollinator update meeting at
BTME.
The open meeting aims to share the experiences and to develop a
network of those already engaged in Operation Pollinator and
environmental projects for the successful creation of wildflower
areas. It will build on the valuable insight into the opportunities
and techniques provided at a series of free workshops over the
summer.
The more clubs we get involved with Operation Pollinator, the
better for the future of ecology on the course, and the better for
the whole golf industry.
Golf clubs that sign-up to join Operation Pollinator on Syngenta
stand B38b at BTME will also receive a free Guide to Bees of UK
and Ireland wall poster (below, right). The extra-large full
colour poster is designed to hang in the clubhouse, to give members
and players an indication of what they can look out for around the
course.
